Custom Compression Springs Manufacturing

Custom Compression Spring Manufacturing

Compression Springs are open-coiled helical springs that resist compressive force.

Typically closed ends are preferred because they allow a greater degree of squareness and prevent tangling. Grinding the ends permits even more squareness control and inhibits buckling. A compression spring design is critical to ensure a compression spring functions within physical constraints without being over-stressed or at risk of fatigue failure.

We manufacture compression springs in various forms including cylindrical, conical, concave (hourglass), & convex (barrel). We manufacture compression springs as small as 0.012” wire diameter and as large as 0.148” wire diameter.

Wire Forms

Wire Forms range from simple handle constructions to complex parts with multiple bends. Gifford Spring specializes in both. We manufacture complex wire forms, hooks, rings, frames, and clips. Wire forms typically contain a combination of bends to suit the customer’s application.

Extension Springs

Types of custom precision extension springs we manufacture include D-rings, S-hooks, and other customized shapes. Gifford manufactures both prototype and large-volume production runs of custom wire forms.

Torsion Springs

Types of custom precision torsion springs we manufacture include double torsion, hinge ends, short hook, straight offset, and more. Gifford manufactures both prototype and large-volume production runs of custom torsion springs.

Prototype Springs

We love quantity 1 and we are experts in manufacturing prototype springs. Types of custom precision springs we manufacture include compression springs, extension springs, torsion springs, and more.
